Orlando P. Abon

Mr. Orlando Abon graduated with a degree of Bachelor  of Elementary Education with special studies on dance, art and P.E. at Philippine Normal University, Manila. He has over these years, became a prime mover of seminars, trainings and workshops of creativity in teaching. He is also a trainor to various art competitions, photojournalism, editorial cartooning which entitled him to win local and international competitions. He is also an author of MAPEH books. Not resting on his laurels are his  contributions as president of Phil.  Art Educators Association,  execom member of National Commission on Cultural Education of NCCA, chairperson of the Catholic Educators Association of the Philippines and a member of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines. At present he is the subject area coordinator of music, arts, P.E. , computer and HELE at St. Mary’s Academy of Pasay City. Mr. Abon was PAEA president from 2002 to 2007.

Tapping his entrepreneural prowess, Orly has started up his own company Ylrostouch Events Management and Coordination  several years ago. The company has served as his outlets for his passion in designing and organizing events.



Brenda V. Fajardo, Ph.D.

Dr. Brenda V. Fajardo began her career in the visual arts as a printmaker and a graphic artist before moving on to painting. She obtained her Master’s degree in art education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. She is one of the founders of Philippine Arts Educators Association.

She recently finished her Ph.D in Philippine Studies at the University of the Philippines in Diliman where she is currently a professor in the Department of Art Studies, College of Arts and Letters. Fajardo held her first solo exhibition in 1994 although prior to that her works were included in a number of selected group exhibitions both in the Philippines and abroad. Last summer, Fajardo’s works was included in the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco’s  exhibition  “At Home and Abroad, 20 Contemporary Filipino Artists.” A multi awarded artist, she was granted the Thirteen Artists Award by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1992. Most recently, she was given the Centennial Award for the Arts of the same institution to honor 100 outstanding Filipinos who have contributed to building the Filipino nation through art and culture in the last 100 years. Most of Fajardo’s works carry strong historical and nationalist themes as well as depict folk and mythological tales. In her tarot card series, she indigenized the tarot images to convey a narrative of socio-political and colonial struggles in the Philippines. She is known for this genre of work and has earned distinction as one of the Philippine’s artist of real significance.
